Write: A1  Write what you know about what being a hero means and explain why someone you think of, is a hero. Use MLA class template, avoid using "you," but no research or formal citing is needed. This is personal writing, so using "I" is fine, instead of "you"--but it must be typed...about 250wds.

Essay 2:  1000wd position paper, w/ 3-5 sources (1-2 peer reviewed) on some   hero, heroic action (by anyone) regarding the experience of Native Americans or in WWII. Include Campbell's elements of the heroic journey and/or Aristotle's idea of tragedy as cathartic.                                                                  DO 2-part response w/citing (A7) to "What US Founding Fathers Learned from NA."

TOPIC ideas: For NA: search for Chief Joseph, Sacagawea, other war chiefs, recent NA leaders like Russell Means, events like the Lakota pipeline, cultural heritage, and lots more--just search! For WWII, people who saved others, leaders like Eisenhower, etc.
